Crust

As per the README.md on the crust github: Crust improves battery life and thermal performance by implementing a deep sleep state. During deep sleep, the CPU cores, the DRAM controller, and most onboard peripherals are powered down, reducing power consumption by 80% or more compared to an idle device.

March Update: Making waves

Long awaited community update is here! Introducing PineVox and bone conduction headset (help us find a name!), IronOS progress, PineNote insights, and PineTime news! We also cover cluster failure, state of services, and the future of the community updates. See you in the upcoming Q&A!

Outage January 21st

We regret to inform you that we are currently experiencing an outage in our main cluster. We are currently actively investigating the cause of this issue. We understand the inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your patience during this time.

August Update: Kept You Waiting, Huh?

We apologize for the lack of regular community updates during the past few months. In short, the people who usually wrote them became very busy. However, we have a new way to write and publish these updates, involving you: the community.

Quick update: What’s going on?

Welcome to our long-awaited community post, where we aim to address the most commonly asked question while also unveiling some more news. Let’s get started! Why hasn’t there been a community update for the past few months?

A new design

As it was teased with the March update and the December blog post of last year, there is a community website redesign being worked on. Launched at beta.pine64.org we’re proud to give a very early insight of what the redesign currently looks like.

PineTab-V and PineTab2 launch

The PineTab2 and PineTab-V pre-orders begin on April 13th. Both tablets feature a 1200x800 10.1” IPS LCD panel with wide viewing angles, a sturdy metal metal chassis, two USB-C ports (1x USB 3.0, 1x USB 2.0 with charging), a digital video out port, a front 2MPx and rear 5MPx camera as well as a 6000mAh battery.

The Logo Challenge

As everyone might have noticed, the beta website received a preliminary logo as part of the rebrand. In this challenge, everyone is invited to improve the current PINE64 community logo and to provide their ideas. The draft logo is intended to act as an inspiration for ideas in which present design can be improved.

March Update: Tablet Bonanza!

We end the first quarter of the year with news that Star64 will be available for purchase on April 4th and that the PineTab2 and PineTab-V(ery good!) will launch the following weekΒ on April 11th.

February update: things are taking shape

Let me start by apologizing to everyone for skipping yet another monthly community update. This has largely been my fault as I was rather busy in January and following FOSDEM at the start of February I found myself occupied with things related to the EU store.

December Update: Merry Christmas and Happy New PineTab

Merry Christmas, happy holidays and a Happy New Year to you all. This month’s update has a different formula from the usual - aside from the announcement of the PineTab2, most of this month’s content is dedicated to looking back at this year and taking a sneak peak at what’s to come in 2023.

November Update: Tune(d) in

We’ve got three key hardware availability announcements this month: for the PineBuds Pro, the Ox64 and Star64, all of which ought to be available in the coming weeks. However, reading this update I’d like you to keep in mind that Chinese factories and logistics are currently experiencing significant restrictions due to the zero-COVID policy.

InfiniTime 1.11

We released InfiniTime 1.11 a few days ago. The timing of the release did not align with the monthly community update, so we decided to write a small blog post to highlight a few new features and provide new about the PineTime community!
