OpenWISP open-source solution facilitates the management of OpenWrt router fleets

Last month, I wrote about the WL-AC1000 AP controller, a hardware-based solution to monitor fleets of routers, and wondered why the company (Wallys) did not provide a software solution instead. It was pointed out to me that software AP controller solutions for OpenWrt routers do exist, but they looked not mature. After a quick search, I found OpenWISP described as an β€œopen-source solution for efficient IT network deployment, monitoring & management” designed for OpenWrt Linux routers. OpenWISP allows organizations with several routers to manage them in a centralized location, get alerts when issues occur, upgrade the firmware of multiple routers with a few clicks, create users with permissions to access specific routers, and so on. Ceva has recently unveiled the Ceva-Waves Links200 multi-protocol platform IP with support for Bluetooth LE High Data Throughput (HDT) technology up to 7.5 Mbps and IEEE 802.15.4 for Zigbee, Thread, and Matter designed for TSMC’s low-power 12nm process. Released in 2016, Bluetooth 5 upgraded Low Energy implementation with four times the range and twice the speed of Bluetooth 4.0 LE transmission which meant up to 2 Mbps over BLE, and even the latest Bluetooth 6.0 specification does not change that. There’s just a new LE 2M 2BT physical layer for Bluetooth Channel Sounding. Python 3.13’s second maintenance release. About 250 changes went into this update, and can be yours for free if you just upgrade now.

Arm Adopting New β€œCristal intelligence” to Drive Innovation and Boost Productivity

Initial findings from Arm’s upcoming AI Barometer survey reveal that over 90 percent of global business leaders have put AI into practice in some way. The widespread, fast adoption of AI into commercial environments is already transforming how businesses operate, enabling a range of productivity and efficiency improvements. A McKinsey report estimated that AI’s impact on productivity could add trillions of dollars to the global economy.

Introducing Cristal intelligence

The ability of AI to drive business improvements is part of the reason why OpenAI and the SoftBank Group announced a new partnership to develop and market Advanced Enterprise AI called β€œCristal intelligence.” This features the latest and most advanced models developed by OpenAI, with all SoftBank Group companies gaining priority access.
