EDATEC ED-GWL1010: Amlogic S905X4-based PoE-enabled LoRaWAN gateway targets Smart Buildings and IoT applications

The AMLogic S905X4 SoC is typically found in TV boxes, but EDATEC has integrated the quad-core Cortex-A55 SoC into its ED-GWL1010 LoRaWAN IoT gateway designed for smart buildings and industrial IoT networks requiring long-range, low-power connectivity. The ED-GWL1010 is built around the ED-REIMEI1 single-board computer, combining a mainboard and an expansion board. It integrates Semtech’s latest SX1302/SX103 baseband chip and a Microchip ATECC608 security chip for enhanced protection. The gateway offers up to 8GB LPDDR4 and 32GB of eMMC storage. For connectivity, it supports dual-band WiFi, Bluetooth 5.0, 10/100Mbps Ethernet with PoE, and a mini PCIe slot for a LoRa module compatible with both American and European LoRa frequencies (US915, AU915, AS923, EU868). The “XIAO ESP32S3 for Meshtastic & LoRa” is an ESP32-S3 LoRa dev kit that combines an XIAO ESP32S3 board with the tiny Wio-SX1262 LoRa module connected through a board-to-board connector. This compact devkit supports LoRa (862-930MHz), Wi-Fi (2.4GHz), and Bluetooth 5.0 (BLE), with a 5km range for LoRa and a 100m+ range for Wi-Fi/BLE. The kit also has a USB Type-C interface, a built-in power management chip, and multiple I/O options such as IIC, UART, and GPIO. MachineQ has recently introduced MQpower CT, a self-powered, IoT-enabled, LoRa CT clamp designed to monitor real-time current consumption. This CT clamp can measure both accumulated (Ah) and instantaneous current(A) with loads up to 100A and 250A with 1mA resolution. Additionally, it integrates a LoRa module for communication that gets powered by the induced current in the clamp itself. These features make this device useful for energy management, proactive maintenance, power monitoring, and more.
